Trends in Piracy and Technologies Being Used to Fight Piracy To be Address by Widevine Technologies' Chief Engineer At Presentation at the Upcoming International Broadcasting Convention

Amsterdam, September 2, 2002 – As the entertainment and the broadcast industry create new, more efficient technologies to broadcast higher quality content, the challenges of protecting this content from being stolen or copied as it is distributed and/or viewed continues to frustrate companies seeking to create new revenue opportunities.

The Chief Engineer of Widevine Technologies, Reza Rassool, is slated to take a fresh look at new anti-piracy, encryption and watermarking technologies that are being used to fight piracy by the entertainment industries and by corporations utilizing video-conferencing and broadcasting technologies. As accepted for presentation at the upcoming International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam, Rassool's paper addresses current trends in piracy and its spread across the globe. He will discuss various ways to monitor piracy, as well as new technologies used to thwart piracy before, during and after distribution of content.
