Widevine announces the Release of Widevine Cypher® Japanese Version

Widevine Expands its Market Reach to the Rapidly Growing Asian Market


Seattle, WA, November 22, 2002 – Widevine announced today the release of the Kanji version of Widevine Cypher® to address the needs of the Japanese market. Driven by favorable results of a product trial executed by DNP Digitalcom Co., Ltd, in Japan, the company strengthened its leadership position by producing a localized version of the software.

“The Japanese and Asian markets have always been a key target for Widevine,” stated Widevine President and Founder, Brian Baker. “Localization is an important feature requirement for Asian markets and this coincides with our planned release of the DNP service. We will continue to work very closely with our representatives and customers to refine our product and services to meet their specific demands.”

The Widevine Cypher software system is a patented content security technology, providing a single solution for secure distribution, delivery and control of content over every stage of an Internet Protocol-based network.
