Widevine and Kreatel Announce the Integration of Cypher Suite into the Kreatel IP Set Top Box Solution
Joint Solution will be demonstrated at IBC2003
Seattle, WA, September 9, 2003 – Kreatel Communications, a leading supplier of IP-based set-top box (STB) systems, and Widevine Technologies, a leading supplier of Conditional Access and Digital Rights Management solutions, today announced the integration of the Cypher Suite with the Kreatel® TV Application Platform. Operators deploying video over IP now have more choice when it comes to solutions with integrated security. Widevine and Kreatel will be demonstrating the integrated solution in TANDBERG Television’s booth #1.461 at IBC2003 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, September 12 – 16th.
Widevine’s Cypher Suite consists of the revolutionary Virtual SmartCard™, giving operators the flexibility to deploy security from the headend. The major motion picture studios are pressing for operators to employ stronger security before releasing their content in earlier release windows. This solution now gives operators using the Kreatel TV Application Platform the option of deploying security with little or no disruption to service.
