MTS Allstream partners with Widevine Technologies to secure MTS TV network, new distribution deals
Security solution lets MTS Allstream acquire and distribute premium VOD content to more than 50,000 subscribers
Winnipeg, MB, April 25, 2006—MTS Allstream has selected Widevine Technologies, the world’s most deployed provider of downloadable content protection and digital forensic solutions, to protect its Video On Demand (VOD) content. MTS Allstream is the largest video-over-DSL provider in Canada, and this partnership will allow the company to expand its VOD library by inking new distribution deals with the world’s biggest movie distributors.

To protect MTS Allstream’s VOD content, Widevine has integrated its Cypher Suite with Motorola’s Multi-Service Access Platform. The platform currently delivers digital video to over 90% of today’s North American installed base of telco video customers. Widevine also seamlessly interoperates with SeaChange’s IP Video Solution, which is used by MTS Allstream to deliver VOD content.
