Widevine® and Amino Sign Reseller Agreement

Initial purchase of 50,000 Virtual SmartCard clients targeted to add value to Amino solutions at key IPTV operators worldwide

Dallas, TX, Nov. 6, 2006 –Widevine Technologies, the world’s leading provider of downloadable content protection, forensic watermarking and digital copy protection solutions, today announced that Amino has entered into a reseller agreement to distribute Widevine Cypher®, the leading content security solution for IP video operators worldwide. Under the terms of the deal, Amino has purchased the first 50,000 Virtual SmartCards for planned deployments around the world.

Amino, a leading IPTV platform supplier, offers a full range of products and technology for IPTV, triple-play and in-home media distribution. Widevine Cypher is a downloadable conditional access and digital rights management solution to protect IPTV, broadband and mobile content delivery to consumers. Under the terms of the reseller agreement, Amino will resell Widevine Cypher along with their suite of consumer electronics platforms to customers worldwide. Widevine is currently integrated with the AmiNET103, AmiNET110, AmiNET120, AmiNET124 and AmiNET500 IPTV platforms. Availability on the AmiNET125 (2nd generation multi-codec) and AmiNET130 (SD/HD MPEG-2/4) platforms is planned for early November.

“Widevine is one of the leaders in enabling premium content licensing and distribution across all modes of IP video delivery,” said Roy Kirsopp, Vice President and General Manager at Amino. “Enabling flexible content delivery is critical for both Amino and Widevine. We believe this partnership will enhance the Amino product offering while increasing the potential for our customers to continue the delivery of high value content services.”

Brian Baker, Widevine President and CEO said, “This partnership will continue to speed the delivery of secure high demand hardware platforms for new and existing customers from both companies. We are pleased to add Amino to our channel network as the first consumer electronic manufacturer reselling Widevine’s innovative Widevine Cypher solution. Widevine will benefit greatly from the worldwide reach of the Amino sales force now and into the future.”

"With the number of IP set top boxes sold worldwide forecast to triple between 2006 and 2007, it’s an increasingly competitive marketplace. Because service operators must have content security to acquire and license premium content, it’s an emerging trend for video device manufacturers to bundle content protection to enhance the value of their offer,” says Jeff Heynen at Infonetics Research.
