Widevine® Releases Cypher 4.0
Enhanced performance, scalability and intuitive interface enable operators
to lower security-related operational costs
SEATTLE, WA, June 14, 2007 –Widevine Technologies, the world’s leading provider of downloadable content protection, forensic watermarking and digital copy protection solutions, today announced the release of Widevine Cypher® 4.0, the fourth generation of the industry leading content security solution. This release continues to offer operators key capabilities that significantly lower the operational and capital related expenses of deploying content security in their networks.
This downloadable conditional access and DRM solution enables telco, cable, internet, mobile and satellite service providers to support an unlimited number of subscribers and assets using a single content security solution for protecting delivery to all major consumer devices—including set-top boxes, PVRs and PC-based consumer devices.
Cypher 4.0 enhanced features include:
- Cypher Management Console™ which offers intuitive configuration and monitoring of any Widevine Cypher solution, including system performance, failure management and consumer device and entitlement provisioning.
- Expanded ecosystem support for key high-definition set top boxes and PVRs from ADB, Hwacom, Kreatel, Motorola and Tilgin. Widevine Cypher now supports over 40 different consumer devices, more than 12 different middleware and 15 different VOD vendors.
- The fastest linear broadcast security solution on the market today, offering 900+ Mbps encryption, or 240+ channels in a single appliance.
- The most efficient video-on-demand security solution on the market, offering the ability to secure an entire Hollywood blockbuster movie in less than two minutes.
Cypher 4.0 can also offers continuous availability through data mirroring and automatic failover—a critical requirement for operators who differentiate on service quality.
