Widevine Expands Sales and Support Team with New Offices in Belgium, Italy and France

AMSTERDAM, 11 September 2007 – Widevine Technologies, the leading provider of downloadable conditional access, digital rights management and digital copy protection solutions for 125+ video operators worldwide, today announced it has opened additional offices in Europe to support its existing customers and new contracts with leading Telco operators in the region.

Widevine has added three new sales and product support offices in Rome, Paris and Antwerp, in strategic alignment with customers and partners. An additional office in Eastern Europe is planned for later this year. This builds on its previous sales and product support office in the UK and its engineering center in Lisbon.

Leading the European team is Yves Van Hecke, most recently with Espial, who joins as General Manager of Sales, EMEA. Axel Faux, formerly of Alcatel-Lucent, and Yaron Rosiner, most recently with Orca Interactive, join as Sales Directors and Sergio Silva, formerly of Siemens, joins as Director of Presales, EMEA.

“The continued expansion of our sales and customer engineering teams will better enable Widevine to support service providers across Europe, Russia, Africa and the Middle East to acquire and secure premium content for their video-on-demand service offerings in both managed networks and open internet delivery,” says Mike Petrocelli, Widevine’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales. “We’ve experienced significant growth in Europe due to our ability to deliver a single content protection solution that secures delivery of high-value content to multiple platforms, in multiple formats and to any device. This includes the ability to secure digital terrestrial television, hybrid DVB IP deployments, cable IPTV, Telco IPTV, mobile and open internet delivery. Our EMEA presence proves our commitment as a customer-driven organization that supports our customers’ current and future deployments.”
