Widevine® Showcases Multiplatform, Multiformat Content Protection at IPTV World Forum Asia

SEATTLE, WA, November 19, 2007 – Widevine Technologies, the leading provider of downloadable conditional access, digital rights management and digital copy protection solutions for 130+ video operators worldwide, will demonstrate solutions to enable secure delivery of linear broadcast, VOD, streamed media and file downloads at IPTV World Forum Asia in Singapore.

Widevine will demonstrate:

  • Multiformat, Multiplatform Content Protection: Widevine Cypher® enables service operators to deliver multiformat and multiplatform content protection over any network infrastructure to a wide range of consumer devices. Now in its fourth generation, Cypher 4.0 adds performance and stability enhancements for Tier 1 scalability and an intuitive management system for increased operational efficiency. This provides the only post-decryption protection available against unauthorized recording and distribution of multimedia content on STBs, PCs, Macs and mobile handsets.

  • Customer Deployments: With over 4.3 million subscribers, Chunghwa Telecom is the largest Internet provider in Taiwan and with its Multimedia-On-Demand service (MOD), the first video-on-demand operator in Asia. Enabled by Widevine’s CA/DRM, Chunghwa licenses premium content from all the major Hollywood Studios.
