Widevine prevents PC vulnerabilities on Windows and Macs
The recent hack of Apple iTunes has raised the red flag for content owners worldwide. Fortunately, Widevine’s Security Watch Team has put Widevine’s content protection technologies to the test against these hacks. The results are impressive. When attempts to apply the FairUse4QT hack to strip iTunes files of Apple FairPlay DRM, Widevine's digital copy protection capabilities detected and prevented the theft from occurring.
Only Widevine offers content protection to secure content after it has been decrypted. Post-decryption, content is often stored in the “digital hole” in RAM, video memory, video cards and other video electronic components. By monitoring, detecting and responding to piracy attacks in the digital hole, Widevine adds an additional layer of defense to secure PCs, Macs and multimedia players from piracy.
Find out more why Widevine’s content protection solutions uniquely enable content owners and multimedia operators to secure content, regardless of the attempts to steal it.
